Sam Pilgrim from Colchester UK was signed by German bike gear and clothing manufacturer OBG – Original Battle Gear.
Sam is just a one of its kind ripper. Riding every day - doesn’t matter if it’s dirt, street or park – gave him the skills to rock contests all over Europe and place third at the FMB World Tour overall ranking in 2011.
Sam seems stoked about the new sponsor: “I remembered OBG from when I was younger and I thought it was cool. Then I got asked to ride for them like eight years later, and I was like: Oh yeah, this is sick! I checked out their website and latest gear, which made my mind up instantly.”

| If you wonder, what the "888" stands for: It's the TRIAD icon, representing the one big family idea behind OBG. |
OBG – Original Battle Gear – was established back in 1993, supported action sports legends like “Mad” Mike Jones, as well as organized the first FMX and wakeboard contests in Germany in the 90ies. Now OBG claims to be “Back from Hell”, bigger and better than ever. They call all the people involved in OBG one big family: The “OBG TRIAD”, which so far consisted of mountain bike riders like 14times German DH Champion Marcus Klausmann, and freeride junkies like Jasper Jauch, Clemenz “Biz” Kaudela or Hannes Klausner, as well as some big names of the German BMX, FMX and MX scene. The OBG TRIAD is quite legendary for their after party skills and hard rocking lifestyle, which they want to spread all over the world more than ever.

Sam is also in every two-wheeled toy he can grab, like the following shots taken by Simon Nieborak, who met Sam a few days ago, prove (all Sam only pics in this post were shot by Simon /

Sam is a perfect fit for the international OBG family: A funny guy, always smiling, partying hard, riding harder and pushing the sport with his awesome level of tricks and some homemade “How To” videos (
http://sampilgrim.pinkbike.com/channel/HOW-TO/) explaining them.
And most important: having a lot of fun doing it:
And Sam doesn't only ride his hardtail trying new combos, but is also into some serious shredding and whipping his NS Soda:
Second addition to the international freeride team is Mr. Antti “Cashroll” Rissanen from Finland.
Antti joined the OBG TRIAD only a few days after Sam. The 19years old young gun from Kuopio (FIN) turned some heads a few weeks ago with his cashroll sequence. Nobody had pulled this trick on a mountain bike on dirt before, and the photo shot by Lars Scharl became the most viewed one on pinkbike ever – the admins even had to triple check, because the number of views seemed insane, but it turned out to be real:
Full story of the shooting:
http://stupendousman.pinkbike.com/blog/Cashroll-shooting-with-Antti-Rissanen.htmlAntti is now fully amped for the season 2012: “I’ll finish school in May and from then on commit the rest of the year to riding bikes only! I’m not that much into comps, but will maybe join one or two FMB World Tour events. Let’s see, travelling and having a lot of good times on the bike is the most important. Great to have OBG on board to push my upcoming video projects!”
OBG is really happy to have Sam & Antti in the TRIAD family and can’t wait for 2012 to see what will happen, so bring the noise!
